Metro Schools Need Career Speakers! Will You Help?Nashville public schools are eager to include business volunteers in their high school career academy classes. Guest speakers are needed for a variety of career and workplace skill topics. Presentations generally take place in a class of 25-30 students and average 30 minutes. The teacher is present during your presentation, and training and instructions are provided before the visit. To sign-up, log into your volunteer account and follow the "Sign up as a Career Speaker" link. You can also search the current speaker requests to find opportunities that fit your areas of interest and expertise.
Metro Nashville Public Schools Volunteer DatabaseWelcome to the MNPS Volunteer Database. This database has been developed as part of the Community School Partnership, a collaborative effort to bring community service providers together with public schools to effectively meet the needs of students and their families. Volunteers are encouraged to use this site to log their service hours. To begin logging your hours, sign up for a volunteer account. You can also search the school needs page to learn how to best help a particular school. Community Service Providers can submit applications to provide services to individual schools or simply post the services they offer. Organizations can also submit applications to become PENCIL partners. School Principals and Volunteer Coordinators can review and approve any partnership applications that have been submitted to their school by logging into their school's account. Your account can also be used to post requests for services and supplies. In addition, schools may also search for needed services through the partner programs search page. Teachers can submit requests for classroom speakers and search for volunteers that have signed-up for the Speakers Bureau. If you need help using this site, download the user manual. If you have other questions or suggestions, please email the PENCIL Foundation at ntroutman@pencilfd.org. |
